New Beginning

Greetings to everyone

The date today is 21 January 2011. Seems like a good day and good time to start updating and putting more writing on this blog that I had abandoned for about 6 months. I actually like writings but just too lazy to post it here. I want to share my experiences and opinion about what I been through in my daily life and what is in my mind. I am not very sure how many people are actually reading this but I feel really good just to express my feelings and note it down here.

So this is the first step for more writing in the future. Hopefully I could keep up with this. Here is a quote that I found and I want to share with all of you. Till then.

Sometimes we must be hurt in order to grow. Sometimes we must lose in order to gain. Because some lessons in life are best learned through pain.

Prayers for Bobby & Mothers

There are a lot of things happening yesterday (6 April 2010). I managed to pack all my stuffs and sent it to 3 different “friends” for them to keep it for me during the long semester break. I have been doing this since the past two years because I do not trust my school store room keeper. Then I get home for a few days before working in KL again.

Ok. The topic now is
Prayers For Bobby. It is a movie made last year for a TV station. I downloaded for quite a long time before I managed to watch it during the exam week and few times after that. All I can say that it is a fantastic movie, great storyline, fabulous line up of actors, full of meaningful messages and a touching ending. Sigourney Weaver is amazing!!

The movie is about Bobby, a smart, kind and somehow confused about his sexuality living with his loving Christian devoted happy family when he discovered himself gay. He had a girlfriend but the relationship did not worked out when he feels awkward about kissing a girl. Once he told his elder brother about his confusion and later the whole family knows it. His mother, Mary worked very hard to cure his son “
sickness” by sending him to meet with a psychiatrist, attend the church meeting and even stick small notes of verses in the Bible in the bedroom, TV, bathroom, kitchen and on the night stand!

Mary tried every thing she could think of in order to heal Bobby from being a sinner as she was afraid that they will not be a family again in the afterlife”. Bobby left home and moved up to
Portland, Oregon to stay with his cousin, Jeanette when he argued with his mother about
“accept me as I am or forget”. On the same time, he met David, a young, handsome and successful man which became his partner. After a few months, due to pressure from his mother, Bobby killed himself by jumping off the bridge and killed by an 18 wheels truck.

But the story did not just stopped there. Mary started to find answer for his son sickness when he found the journal written by Bobby in his stuffs. Soon after that, she found and satisfied what she need to know and calm enough to accept the fact that Bobby is gay. She consulted with Reverend Joseph, a priest who are concern with the gay community and run the
Metropolitan Community Church. She even volunteered for PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) and often stands up for gay right issue.

Trivia:

  • When Bobby went to Portland for two months, he sent his mother a book called “Now That You Know, What Every Parent Should Know About Homosexuality”

  • On Bobby’s birthday, his mother sent him a present consist of a sweater and a brochure, AIDS The Wrath of God

PS: I wonder if there is anyone who are like Reverend Joseph but the Muslim version in
Malaysia? Or at least a centre like Metropolitan Community Church? ;)

After watching this movie, I realised one thing. It is never easy to be a mother, especially a good one. They will do anything just to make sure that their children is safe and protected. To all mothers in the entire universe, a special announcement for you:

I heart you very much Mama!!!

I am an idiot...always be

Idiot Idiot Idiot!!!

I am such an idiot. Stupid me. How can I overlooked the exam date? Am I blind or something? My brain has stop functioning? I have not been sleeping since the past 23 hours revising and understanding the chapters and I missed yesterday's exam. I went to knock my lecturer's door but she is not there. I waited patiently for about an hour just to find out that she could not let me re-sit the paper. My grade is going to doom!!! I cannot take this anymore. What should I do? What should I do? There is nothing I can do to make things better. This is all my fault. I am feeling so down now. Deep down to the core.... How could this happen to me???

Help me God!!!

Roll the tape...

I have a new obsession recently. Thanks to the 24/7 non stop internet connection from the university, I am now able to get online to download my movies. Well, gay-themed movies to be precise. Let me tell you one thing, I never liked this type of movie before. The reason is, I do not need too much of “gayness” in my life and I am still in the closet. But I do watch some of it once in a while when my friends introduced it to me such as Queer As Folk, Dante’s Cove and Queer Eye For The Straight Guy (The Fab 5 is fantastical!!).

I watched
Brokeback Mountain a couple of years back and it was directed by an Asian director which won him an Oscar for the Best Director!! Later my friend introduced me to a hilarious drag queen movie called “To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar”. Seriously, I watched this over and over again for numerous times until I lose track of the counts. But then that’s about it. No more gay-themed movie after that. 2 months back, soon after the university upgraded the wireless system, and I have so much time to spend in front of my computer, I started to think, let’s do something with this free connection!

The first movie I downloaded with the university wireless is “Eating Out 3: Eat All You Can”. Just because we are prohibited to install and use the torrent downloader or peer-to-peer application, I have to find an alternative for it. So right now I can only download those movies from several websites that I know such as medi*****, filef****** and eas*****. The problem is, we need to download the movie in fragments. And after we already have all the parts, we need to join them and then only we can watch the whole movie. Here come to major problem. Just because the connection is unstable most of the time, the download progress will get stuck once your connection speed get very low. There are times when I was thinking to kill myself because the download is just simply stop at 99%!! And then you have to re-download everything all over from the start. Sigh….

So far, I have quite a collection now. The Mulligans (I actually downloaded this at home and kept it in my iPod but then totally forgot about it before I rediscovered them when my friend was asking for some movies). Philadelphia, Wedding Wars, The Love of Siam, As Luck Would Have It, Ciao, Make The Yuletide Gay, Bangkok Love Story, The Lucky Bastard, Boy Culture, Redwoods, The Art Of Being Straight, Prayers For Bobby, Trick, Defying Gravity, and the list goes on and on….

Maybe one day I should write a review for it!!! Wait up!!!

Don't Stop Gleeing!!!

I am such a big fan of Glee. Yes I am. Eventhough it just been broadcasted in South East Asia on STAR World, but due to the world evolving technology, I managed to download the whole half season in few days. Well, not entirely the whole season yet, because it is still filming the upcoming episodes. Anyway, back to Glee.I think it is a better version of High School Musical. The actors can really sing! Here is some of my opinion on the characters.

Will : he is Justin Timberlake-like and he really got moves too! I wish I had a teacher like him when I was in school. And yeah, Terri is TERRIble!!!

Sue Sylvester: ewwwww!! That is the first thought I had when I saw her for the first time. After a while I am kind of like her character. Frankly speaking, I don’t think the show would work without her. Good job Jane Lynch!!

Finn: a dumb ass who have a good look! a no-brainer quarterback who sings well. can u imagine that? My grandmother had a prostate cancer??

Rachel: A diva wannabe. I saw few of my school mates who acts like her. BTW, What is wrong for being unpopular? I cant stand her!!

Kurt: I love him to bits! and u know why! wish I could have a strength like him

Mercedes: Nice name though. Another Beyonce-Aretha-Jennifer Hudson alike. But I like her. She could act very well.

Emma: an OCD counselor. But she is cute though despite of her psychologically impaired feature. At first I thought she is the one who are in Scary Movie but I googled her and it is not what I think.

Quinn : she is a nice person. Look a bit like Hayden Panettiere as she is a cheerleader. But no more “save the cheerleader, save the world”. Like her moves during the audition to join the Glee club with the Aretha song. Very cute!

Puck: Honestly speaking, I think he is hot! Like the Mohawk hairstyle. He could dance very well too!

Artie: hhmmmm…. What can I say?

Tina: I kissed a girl for audition?? She rawks!!!

Santana: nothing much about her yet. But she seems quite a good actor

Brittany
: another cliché dumb blonde. I think her character could evolve though

Oh No!!

For those who are reading this,

Sorry for not updating this little page. I have been busy with my usual stuffs and got no little tiny time to write. I am currently is having my final exams and hope everything went well. I have to tell you this. I am not a rich student and I do not buy newspapers. Thanks to the technology because now we can read the newspaper on the net. Save the time, save the money, and save the earth. There are several online newspapers that I will read every day and are mainly the prime newspaper in the country such as Kosmo, Utusan
Malaysia, Berita Harian, New Straits Time and The Star.

It is good for me though I do not have to spend some money on it, I have the free wireless internet provided by the university (just recently upgraded, so better connection) and the best of all, I do not have to keep the piling up old newspapers in my room as it is already in such a big mess. Okay, stop babbling about my room. I actually really like to read newspapers because I love to update myself with the most recent news either locally or globally. When I was in school, my mom always bought Utusan
Malaysia (but she changed to Kosmo now as it is more compact and cheaper too! But still they were published by the same company).

Anyway, Utusan
Malaysia really annoyed me! You know why? The news is just so lame. Most of the things they always highlight are political issues. Come on!!! We are not living in 1990s. Well, it is actually good to know your local political climate but so far till now, I never saw any good write up about the opposition party. Are they really that bad? Are they really screwing up? I am so sadden by Utusan as they are the prime and No.1 Bahasa Malaysia newspaper in the country! I am not siding any of the political parties here but it is so irritating until I stopped reading them already.

It just so baffling to me as they have most Malay readers and for those who are less educated and only read from only one source, this could be deceiving and misleading and they will just believe what they read instantly. I am living in a state which ruled by the opposition and so far, I am living here just fine. I heard some are saying that Malays are neglected in this particular state as the State Government granted more projects for the Chinese than the Malay. I hate to say this but what about I am about to say is based on common sense. If you are living in a place which is mostly Chinese populated, is it strange for you to have more Chinese hawker stalls or Buddhist temple or Chinese shops around you? Of course not. I really could not understand the logic behind the statement by “some people” that the State government is neglecting the other races.

I have been thinking a lot about this lately and somehow in the end I need to write this up and hopefully someone will read it. This is just my opinion based on the articles that I read and personal observations through my living here. Hope to write more soon.

Have a good day.

Sorry

Hello people.

I am sorry as I never have time to get around this space as before. I have a non stop internet access at my workplace but I really got no time to spend updating my blog. Soon as my work contract finish, I went for holiday in few places. I will tell you more next year!

Yeah, 2010 is coming up in few hours time. Are you ready for it? Any new resolution? I seldom do the resolution thingy because I thought that it is such a waste of time. The most important thing is to improve our self from day to day and become a better person in order to achieve our goals in life.

Just for a start, hope you enjoy this video. I love it too much!! They are damn good.

ps: I like the middle one. ;)
